Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is my great pleasure to be the President of the General Assembly and Chair of the Security Council of Model United Nations of Goldberg 2019, therefore I would like to introduce myself.
My name is Lara Vignjevic and I will be 17 years old at the time of the conference. I am a student of the hosting school in Sindelfingen, Germany. Model United Nations of Goldberg 2019 will be my 5th international conference.
My first MUN experience was back in 2017 participating as a delegate for the first time. In the following conferences I continued to fall in love with the MUN-spirit. Based on my own experience MUNOG is an unforgettable experience for all those participating to think of current issues our world and society have to face and most notably to find measures to solve them in order to improve current and future living standards all over the world. Given these facts, I am delighted to attend this conference as the President of the General Assembly, hence being actively involved in organizational matters as a part of the Executive Committee.
Furthermore, I am honored to preside over the Security Council, a committee of particular importance as it has the main responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security.
With this being said I wish all of you an unforgettable time at the 11th session of Model United Nations of 2019 and successful debates!
President of the General Assembly of Model United Nations 2019
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
In the name of the whole MUNOG organisational team, I welcome all of you to this year´s conference.
My name is Alexandra Ehlen and I am more than honoured to preside over the General Assembly of MUNOG 2019 as well as to assume the position of a Chair in the Security Council. Furthermore, I am a part of the Executive Committee.
As soon as I began my first MUN as a member of the Sim Staff at MUNOG 2016, I became curious about other conferences such as MUNOB or MUNISS.
Additionally, I love to enjoy my free time with dancing, singing, taking part in drama groups and having fun with my friends.
I am really looking forward to seeing you in October and spending a fun and unforgettable time with you, as well as to experience thoughtful and creative debates.
I'm a 17-year-old aspiring to study Economics in the United States. I love learning new things and have undisclosed talents ready to catch you off guard.
Currently, most of my responsibilities come from my job as Playlist Manager for an up-coming Romanian radio, but I like having a full schedule, so I also have a couple of side projects in motion or the works.
On the 25th of March, a star was born, not Elton John but one of your DISEC committee's chairs. My name is Xsara Ivanescu, I am 17 years old and I this years' Model United Nations of Goldberg will be my 5th conference, the 2nd as a chairperson. Predictable, I, first and foremost, wish to express my honor for the entitled position that I've been offered and surely I am looking forward for the conference.
Currently, I am a senior at “Mihai Viteazul” National College in Bucharest, Romania. While I got the first insight into MUNs in my freshman’s year, it was only in my sophomore that it happened to be admitted into my schools debate club where I acquired some insights of public speaking and I came across subjects which now represent my boundless source in matter of reading, politics and international law. The newly gained passion lead me in 11th grade attending my first international conference, BIMUN in WTO committee, an experience which proved to be one of the most beneficial for my personal development.
Regarding my other passions, I have a genuine interest in film photography along with drawing, playing guitar and last but not least I enjoy listening to music and watching movies (lots of them).
Albeit, this being probably my last MUN and also my first time in Goldberg, I couldn't be more excited to meet you all in this October!
My name is Yannick Dietrich, I’m 17 years old and currently in 12th grade of the Goldberg Gymnasium Sindelfingen.
This year’s MUNOG is my fourth time as a part of MUNOG but my first time chairing a Committee.
It is a huge honor for me to be able to chair such a big committee as DISEC and work together with my two co-chairs to draw up a reasonable resolution. For me it is really important to balance a pleasant atmosphere with concentrated work in order to achieve a resolution while actually enjoying the work at the same time.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all at MUNOG 2019!
My name is Iorgus-Serghei Cicală and I am a sixteen-year-old high school student at “Mihai Viteazul” National College from Bucharest, Romania.
I feel deeply honored and delighted to serve as one of the chairmen for Model United Nations of Goldberg 2019, which is going to my 6th international conference, but my third time holding the position of a chairman within a General Assembly committee.
Even though my major in school is Mathematics and Computer Science, which have genuinely structured my critical thinking thoroughly and logically, I am truly passionate about the fascinating and limitless universe of Human and Social Sciences with all its constituent fields of study, ranging from History, Philosophy to Sociology, Anthropology, Economics and Political Sciences.
Apart from that, another true passion of mine is an insatiable fervor for world literature, which has been amplified and brought to the foreground after having attended numerous national essay-writing contests. Hence, as part of my tertiary education, I am avidly interested in studying subjects revolving around the sphere of Humanities, an academic discipline which intrinsically defines me as an individual.
Therefore, even in my leisure time I go for such pursuits, as reading, writing articles as the editor-in-chief for the History, Philosophy and Logic section of an online Human Sciences magazine, when not escaping into the mundane by listening to music, watching movies, going swimming or simply going out with my friends.
I am really thrilled to be part of this conference, where I can meet amazing people to exchange ideas and opinions with, and even learn from. I am eagerly looking forward to meeting all of you at MUNOG 2019.
My name is Eva-Catalina Costescu, a 18-year-old and 12th grader at ”Mihai Viteazul” National College of Bucharest, Romania. This upcoming conference will be my 7th MUN and my third time chairing. So far I’ve attended MUNOB three times, the first two through the eyes of a delegate and the most recent one having a chair position, when I was honoured to preside over the Security Council. The fact that my continuous involvement in this activity led to the result of chairing a committee alongside one of my MUN trainers from my first year of highschool brought a wholehearted sense of growing.
Moreover, RIMUN occured to me at a starting point in what later evolved into a MUN path, and it represented the conference where I first learned the great feeling which comes with being hosted by a welcoming family. Another fulfilling experience which I got to live happened during BIMUN, the conference I took part in by chairing the WHO and where I met a lot of interesting people which left my heart filled up with vivid feelings about all our interactions and discutions which led to us sharing strong thoughts on topical matters, career aspirations or simply chit-chatting on our way to grab coffee.
Last but certainly not least, I had the pleasure to attend MUNOG and to experince the genuine surprise of finding myself standing on the top of my delegate career. There were momets of intense debate and competitiveness between well prepared delegates which I gratefully further encountered during other MUNs. But for these reasons and many others I wouldn’t be so joyful to return to this conference this year.
Since I’m interested in how the human body works and I get quite driven by the thrill of the scientifical explanations of our body’s mechanisms, I’m thinking of studying Medicine in the future. However, there are other activities I enjoy, such as learning about politics and historical periods which have shaped our modern world, as well as reading novels and articles, watching movies, going to the gym and dancing.
I’m looking forward to MUNOG and meeting you all!
My name is Maria Stanica, I am 16 years old and I live in Luxembourg. I greatly enjoy partaking in MUN conferences, seeing as they are all unique and teach you a variety of new skills. The reason why I enjoy these conferences so much is because I was brought up in an environment where international communities and international cooperation were pivotal towards having everyone get along with one another. This is because I moved quite often, namely from Romania, to Italy, to Germany and then to Luxembourg. Having been immersed in different schools, with different people from different backgrounds and cultures, I managed to learn about all parts of the world as well as understood the importance of creating bridges between people, which is exactly what MUN conferences do.
On a more laid back note, I enjoy running, surfing and listening to music (which ranges from 80’s rock to bands nobody has heard of). On top of that, I also enjoy the occasional Netflix perusal, and thus I feel obligated to impart upon you what I believe to be crucial knowledge. What do I mean by this? Two words. Black Mirror. Making our way into the topic of school, I am very passionate about most subjects, although I tend to lean towards the sciences and maths.
Lastly, I would like to say that I am greatly looking forward to being a chair at MUNOG this year. I am very excited to meet everybody and work together in order to create a prosperous resolution. See you soon :)
my name is Hannes Schöller and it is my pleasure to be one of the Chairs of the World Health Organization at MUNOG 2019.
I am 16 years old and I am a student of the host school. I really like to play soccer and hang out with friends.
If you have any questions about the preparation or the agenda of MUNOG, please feel free to ask either me or my co-Chairs. I am really looking forward to seeing you and having fruitful debates with you.
See you at MUNOG 2019 :)
My name is Luis Müller, I´m from the Goldberg Gymnasium in Germany and 15 years old.
Besides MUNOG, my hobbies are acting and spending time with friends and family.
Because of my previous experience as a Delegate and as member of the Sim Staff, I became acquainted with the activities of a Chair and was impressed by their work. Therefore, I decided to participate as a Chair this year.
I hope for a good collaboration in the World Health Organization and for an unforgettable time at MUNOG 2019.
My name is Naina Jose and I have the pleasure of being one of the chairs for HRC in this year’s edition of MUNOG. I am 16 years old and am originally from India, however, I have lived in Luxembourg for the past 10 years. This year’s conference will be my first time chairing, however, it will be my 4th MUN that I attend, with MUNOG 2018 being my first. In addition to this conference I have also attended BIMUN Barcelona and LUXMUN. Having been born in a country much different to the one I live in now, as well as in the UK and the Czech Republic on the way, I’d like to think that I have seen some of the stark differences that are present in our world today - politically, socially, as well as economically. Hence, especially in today’s society that is seemingly more divided than ever, I truly believe it is of utmost importance to work together and cooperate to try and solve issues that once seemed impossible to tackle. Therefore, dear delegates, I am extremely excited to not only meet you all, but to get to hear your ideas and see how you confront these prevalent issues of the 21st century.
I very much look forward to witnessing the fruitful debates to come.
My name is Anne-Marie Tecsan and I will be chairing the Human Rights Council at this year’s MUNOG conference.
I live in Germany, but my roots are in Romania.
This will be my second chairing experience, but my seventh MUN conference. I am incredibly grateful for every single conference I can participate in since they have contributed a great deal to my personal development and self-confidence.
I am looking forward to a productive and great time during MUNOG 2019!
I’m Adithya Ravichandran and I’ll be chairing UNHRC in MUNOG 2019.
I’m 15 years old and have lived in Luxembourg for the past 11 years.
MUNOG 2019 is going to be my first-time chairing, although it will be my 5th conference. My time as a delegate at MUNs has been very enjoyable, particularly through engaging in interesting debate with people from around the world.
At school, mathematics and physics are among my favourite subjects. I also love playing and watching many different sports, such as cricket, badminton, table tennis and basketball.
I am looking forward to meeting all of the delegates of UNHRC and hope we will have a wonderful time together at this year’s edition of MUNOG.
Hello delegates and other participants of MUNOG 2019,
My name is Vincent Fuchslocher and I will be this year’s President of the Economic and Social Council.
I am 16 years old and from Germany. Talking about my MUN experiences, I can say that I participated at MUNOG and BIMUN as a delegate once, so this year will be my third MUN, but as a chair.
Besides doing sports I like listening to music or getting myself caught up with watching too much Netflix.
I’m hoping for a fruitful but also cheerful debate and a good time at this year’s Model United Nations of Goldberg.
my name is Aran Garreta and I will be chairing this year’s Economic and Social Council, this will be my second MUNOG and my fourth MUN conference overall. Additionally, this will be my first time chairing in an international MUN.
In my spare time I like to go on hikes and sail.
I’m really looking forward to MUNOG 2019 and I can’t wait to see you all!
My name is Justinian Nastasa and I am going to be one of the chairs of the Economic and Social Council of this conference.
I am 17 years old and a future senior at “Mihai Viteazul” National College from Bucharest, Romania. This MUNOG conference is going to be my 5th, but my first as a chairman.
During the years of being a delegate, each and every conference I have attended allowed me to develop my public speaking and debating skills, which I find valuable for performing in such a field, while seeking viable solutions for the major politic, economic and social issues currently concerning our society.
My main focus in school is on Maths, Computer Science and Physics. However, while being involved in MUN, I became highly interested in Diplomacy, International Relations and History and Politics.
As for my hobbies, I am extremely passionate about music and acting, swimming and travelling.
These being said, I am thrilled to be part of MUNOG 2019 where I am really looking forward to meeting amazing people with whom to exchange ideas and opinions, thereby leading to fruitful and memorable debates.
Ladies and Gentleman,
My name is Cynthia Binder and I am going to be the Chair of the UNFCCC committee. I am in the 10th grade of the Goldberg Gymnasium in Sindelfingen right now. MUNOG 2019 will be my third MUN conference as a Delegate or a Chair and my fifth MUN experience in general.
In my spare time I play volleyball, the piano and I dance. At the time of MUNOG 2019 I will already be in Worthing, England, because I will be doing a year abroad and attending an English high school there. So, of course, I am very happy to be able to come to Germany for the conference.
I am already looking forward to interesting debates, euphoric Delegates and a successful conference.
Leyre de la Calzada
My name is Leyre de la Calzada, and I’m a 17-year-old girl who lives in Barcelona.
MUNOG 2019 will be my fourth international conference and my first one as a chair.
During my free time, I enjoy skiing, running and playing the piano. I’m beyond excited to be able to chair in this years’ debates and I’m looking forward to the conference to arrive.
See you all in October!
I‘m Sarah Schüle and I have the pleasure to be the chair of SPECPOL.
I am 17 years old and an 11th grader at the hosting school, the Goldberg-Gymnasium Sindelfingen. My first conference was in 2016 and since then I have attended some more conferences as a Delegate as well as a Chair. Looking back at these conferences I can say that being a chair has always inspired me more. It‘s impressive seeing the development of shy delegates to self-confident and strong ones, as well as seeing young people debating certain and current topics.
With this mind I‘m really looking forward to the committee sessions and fruitful debates.
Can‘t wait to meet you all!
my name is Jolyne Schmitt and I’m 18 years old.
I graduated last year but I wanted to come back in order to experience once again the MUN Spirit, this time as a Chair of CSW.
This is my 6th conference experience. I took part in MUN Conferences in Stuttgart, Bucharest and Sindelfingen as a delegate. Two years ago I joined the Executive Committee of MUNOG first as the deputy Secretary General, then I was Secretary General. I love the feeling during the conferences, getting in touch with new people as well as seeing old friends again.
Besides school, I dance twice a week and go climbing. I also lead a small children group and organize projects for kids in our neighborhood.
I hope we will have an amazing week in autumn,
My name is Nela Gawrychowska and I will be the Vice President of the Commission on the Status of Women. I am currently 16 years old and I live in Warsaw, Poland. I learn at the International European School of Warsaw and am in the first grade of High School, which is translated to the second year of the IGCSE programme.
I will be serving as a committee chair for the first time on MUNOG 2019. I have previously attended four conferences. I started my journey with MUNs when I was just freshly 15. Since then got truly addicted.
On daily bases I am greatly involved in school life. In addition to that, I train sport acrobatics. I am very passionate about gaining knowledge and developing my skills in various fields, art for instance. In the future I hope to work for the real United Nations. In my very scarce free time I like to venture the city with my friends, go to concerts and discover culinary diamonds among the Warsaw restaurants and cafes. If I was to describe myself in a few adjectives, I would use ambitious, outspoken and open.
In my opinion such events like MUNs are necessary to provide the world with future leaders and teach the young generation about politics and how sophisticated issues are solved. We live in a constantly changing world facing the challenges of international tensions, humanitarian tragedies, climate change and constant development, wether it comes to technology or as a global society. What could happen if we don’t react, if we don’t use the possibilities we have? Is the world of today ready for the future?
Our committee will try to improve health conditions for women in developing countries, to ensure gender equality in the light of traditional rituals and will be working towards ensuring the rights of female commercial sex workers and access to basic health care. The delegates will aim to reconcile regional traditions with the standard of the XXI century. They will also attempt to answer the question of the right to health being universal and should there be a uniform approach of viewing sex work as a job or shall it rather be perceived as slavery and exploitation?
As both topic are equally controversial, I am looking forwards to lots of intense debates and tremendous solutions reached by fruitful cooperation and collaboration. See you soon on MUNOG 2019!
All the best,
Dear Delegates of the CSW,
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Model United Nations of Goldberg 2019.
My name is Serena Fiscella and I am excited to be one of your chairs in this year's Commission on the Status of Women. I am 16 years old and attend the 10th class of the hosting school Goldberg Gymnasium Sindelfingen. MUNOG 2019 will be an completely new experience for me since it's my first time as a Chair after two times of being a Delegate and I will also be the Head of Advisors and Head of Social Programme.
In my free time I enjoy going out with friends, as well as singing and watching memes.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me or my co-Chairs. I am eagerly looking forward to meeting all of you in October and hope we will have a lot of fun and fruitful debates!
