In my article on the HRC, I mentioned the German delegate claiming that he had attempted to collaborate on a working paper with the Chinese representative, although their policies on the topic of discussion did not align. It has been brought to my attention that this claim was not factually accurate due to a misunderstanding on my part. The delegate in question actually collaborated with the USA on their resolution and did not attempt collaboration with China, but had a private discussion with them regarding their working paper. I had misunderstood the situation because a chair had loudly announced to avoid collaborating with nations that did not promote the same values, which I, in the context of the situation, mistakenly interpreted as being directed at the German delegate.
I formally apologize for misrepresenting the moment in my article and personally extend my apology to the delegate of Germany from the HRC, whom I subjected to ridicule due to the misinformation spread in my writing.
